hello, I use freedom chat, my username is sound2.

Post 3 by Jess227 on Sunday, 14-Nov-2004 13:10:46

I use to use FC. I only used it a few times then chose to delete the program because I didn't like it.

Post 4 by renegade rocker (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 14-Nov-2004 13:27:10

I use to use the program, but now get it away from me, because I absolutely can't stand cleaks, and that's what I've seen on there as of late, that, and more bots than users.

i'm acosha on fc.

Hi Caitlin and all,
I did have freedom chat, but I don't anymore. For some reason, I thought I needed the extra space I'd have, so I could install gcn, but that program didn't work out for me, but I didn't reinstall freedom chat, because there just isn't anyone to talk to on there, and I hate the bots. I enjoyed it when Austin and his parents were on there, and I could find people I use to talk to on other chat programs, and we could go in a private room that I created, and have good talks, but he uninstalled it off his computer, so that's another program by the wayside for me. Besides, the co admins and monitors ignore you when you ask a legitimate question. A friend of mine needed to know if there was a way to turn pages off, and I paged both million, and queen galadrial to ask them, and I was very polite, even told them I was sorry to have to bother them, but I was asking this question on behalf of a friend, and they both ignored me, so I just said, wellwhen you're polite as butter, and the admins and monitors still ignore you, what's the point? So I uninstalled it, and told that program bye bye.

I use to use it but don't any more cos I can't. it, for some reason times out on me even though I tried downloading the latest version etc. I don't really know what the story is. sometimes it doesn't even let me log in. other times, I can be in a room for anywhere up to ten mins before it crashes and says it's timed out. .. I have the same problems when I try getting in from MIRC. it's weird. wrote to the admin a while ago but never heard back from him - terrific service huh?!

Hey rdfreak, I'm with ya there, and I got banned from a channel on there for no reason what so ever, so there's another reason I don't use it any more, why do that when I'm already on the best darn site on the net! the zone!

Hi,
I do use Freedom Chat as well, and my user name is also Goldberg.
FC is starting to get really boring though, I'd rather be here, or on MSN or something like that.

Hi rd freak, you hit the nail on the head, I can't stand admins, who tell you how to email them, and if you have any problems, they can be found in such and such a room, then they ignore you. Better an admin, who is at least honest, and will freely admit he won't help you, insted of those who tell you to let them know if you have a problem, then ignore you when you politely ask a question.

I never did understand why people created bots, put them in their rooms, then they were never in them, there was nobody there except the bots. Someone got morpheus to say stastistics about me, and to say, wasted time, 4 minutes. So I said, and how much time did Morpheus waste saying all that?

Post 13 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 14-Nov-2004 22:51:23

Yeah that's why I hardly go on FC. Only if i'm very very bored and there's no one on here, AIM, MSN or whatever, and I just wanna see what's up or browse soime profiles do I go on there. And when I do, there's either no one to talk to or just stupid bots! And when there is someone to talk to sometimes they say really inappropriate things and just waste my time. So yeah I very very very VERY rarely ever go on there, jsut to let you all know lol!

Post 14 by wonderwoman (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 14-Nov-2004 23:39:41

yeah, and they can really be insulting. Some of the 20 something year old guys think they're funny, but I don't. There was one on an irc server called emma, and she sounded so real, that i was just about to tell her off until I discovered she was a bot. She called me a hopeless case of carrion, and a piece of radioactive something or other, it was so long and nonsensical, I can't even remember what it was.

Post 15 by Jess227 on Monday, 15-Nov-2004 0:21:11

yeah thats one reason why I couldn't stand it there. Bots. You think they're human but they're not. Theyre thre to annoy the hell out of you thats what their there for. And if it isn't the bots it's the idiots on there. So I stick to GCN or MSN on my end even though Renegade_Rocker is the only person I talk to on GCN.

I have fc, but I think it's shite. the same ppl are there as was on the old accessible chat, and it's shit shit shit. you can't have a proper discussion on there.

Post 17 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Monday, 15-Nov-2004 9:47:21

Hi, I never liked fc, I had it installed for about 5 days total, logged on twice, and no one even talked to me even though I was talking to them, so I uninstalled it. Honestly, if you're gonna make a chat program, at least help out those who ask questions.

Post 18 by wonderwoman (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Monday, 15-Nov-2004 18:56:11

exactly, Niblit, I couldn't agree more. Being ignored by other members is one thing, but when a person is a co admin, or a monitor, they owe it to you to answer you when you have a question. Monitors and admins need to make themselves more available to the public.
You're certainly right Dobin, about not being able to have a sensible discussion. This will probably sound petty, but I had been in a room by my self for an hour once on accessible chat, which I prefer to go in to an empty room and wait for someone to come in. So I had been sitting there for an hour, just me, then, Elf, the coadministrator came in, and I greeted him and told him it was nice to see him, but I was surprised to see him, since he was usually in the more populated rooms. He said he came in there because he saw I was in a room by myself. I was starting to get in to an actual conversation, when a whole gang just swarmed in all at once, and there went any hope of any conversation, serious or otherwise. That's what irritated me, no one had come in in over an hour, but just let me try to have a serious conversation with someone, then a whole crowd flocks in, and starts flooding the room so quick and fast, that those of us who aren't 100 word per minute typists can't get a word in.

Yeah,. I'm thinking of uninstalling FC. It's okay, but I'd much rather go on here, and I really have no one to chat with on there, except when I arrange with like one friend I have who goes on there to meet. But that's it. SO I may just uninstall it. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks, and then I'll make my decision.

Post 20 by wonderwoman (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Tuesday, 16-Nov-2004 0:40:00

I don't blame you. I had no one to chat with on there either. I was hoping it would replace accessible chat. Even though accessible chat got pretty bad in the end, I met some nice people before it all went sour.

Hey Caitlin, Wonderwoman and any other freedom chat users,
If you don't know this already, FreedomChat is not being used. Instead we are using mIrc, which is very similar toFreedom Chat, except it's a lot better and you have control over a lot of things, pllus you can go on other servers and chat and stuff like that. If you want to knowmore, just send me a private quicknote. Thanks all, hope I can help.

FC is full of Arse Wholes, geeks and bots, only onwe or twousers are any good, and they want to avoid it, I use my own network IRC4Life and DeepSpace.org, I also worked on a Client as you may have noticed on another board called Mirc4Life And as an Admin I offer support on both these networks as do others. If i am not around the user simply has to leave me a memo and i'll get back to them as soon as i get back. or on msn, aim, yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk, Skype, Email or phone which is all found at my networks support page.

so if any users want to try out </a href="irc://irc.irc4life.net">IRC4Life
or </a href="http://www.irc4life.net/mirc">the Mirc4Life Client you are more than welcome to

mIrc does not have any bots in the channels. Basically what you do is connect to a talkingirc.net server, and then you're ready to start chatting! Bots are annoying anyways, but that's not why people are really not going on fc, I think it's because there is clonging of bots and other stupid shit like that. I was just giving you all advice, and if you don't want it, fine. I am allowed to express what I use on this board. Having said that, if you are offended by my comments in any way, then just ignore it and don't post on here at all!
Thanks,
Macy

Post 29 by wonderwoman (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Friday, 24-Aug-2007 18:54:32

Hi macy,
yes, and thanks for the mirc info, but I don't go on mirc much anymore either, though I still ha ve it on my computer. it's a good place to go once in a while, since I find I'm better off going from one place to another and not staying very long. people seem less annoying that way. as for mirc, well, I met some nice people on there, but it's either too noisy, in which case, if there is too much chatter, I can't get out of a channel, because jaws won't hush long enough for me to do so, and when jaws gets flooded, I panic, but on the other hand, it's too quiet, and when people go in a channel just to read email, or do things on another site and not talk, it's rather irritating and frustrating, so I just don't use it much, but I will go on it once in a while. I use to go on dalnet and undernet, but decided I didn't like some of the ops on some of the channels, and when they used those graphical pop ups, it made jaws spout a bunch of gibberish that didn't make sense, and it drove me nuts. I wanted to scream. Of course they had the right to do that if they wanted to, since there were very few blind people, and i guess the graphic popups were visually appealing, but it would;ve been nice if i'd had warning before they did it like, I want to do some long graphical pop ups, ttthen I could've left the room before they started.

Post 30 by ™ (Veteran Zoner) on Sunday, 26-Aug-2007 6:52:00

in Mirc4Life you can simply hit a key f6 or control f6 for a channel which disables mirc's speech output so if as you said the channel starts to flood with popups you hit control f6 and carry on doing what ever or if you want a brake from mirc hit f6 and it disables all of it's speech output untill you hit f5 or control f5 for enable channel speech, plus my network IRC4Lidfe don't do that as most users are blind and we have FloodServ running too

Post 31 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 20-Oct-2007 12:14:25

With mIRC, you can download a script located at www.talkingirc.net
And if you use jaws primarily for the client, you can download the agent software which is on the site. If you have any other questions, just contact me by private and/or public quicknote. Thanks and good luck!!!
